Bio

Sean and Rebecca Cannon, along with daughters, Brooklyn and Madison, are missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship. They have been assigned to Ecuador as a pilot/mechanic family. Sean is excited to use the gifts and abilities God has given him to benefit the Kingdom of God through aviation. “I look forward to seeing God glorify Himself through simple and supernatural ways through the facets of MAF’s ministry.” Rebecca looks forward to discovering the plans God has for her in Latin America. She will be supporting Sean as he flies and providing a comfortable home for their family. She also hopes to become involved in various ministries with the local people.

Sean was born and raised in Monte Vista, CO. While in junior high, he was invited to a youth group by some of his friends. Through the influence of two youth pastors in high school, he gave his life to Jesus and soon began to feel a call to full-time ministry. Sean became aware of missions through a missionary speaker at church and subsequent trips to Mexico, Africa, and South America.

Sean attended Adams State College in Alamosa, CO, for one year and also Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C., Canada. Working as a pilot and mechanic-in-training, he earned his A & P license and commercial ASEL with CFII privileges.

Philippians 1:21 is a favorite verse of Sean’s. “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” He shares that the perspective given in this verse, to live every moment for Christ and His glory, along with the treasure of Heaven, motivates him to live for Christ fully every day.

Rebecca was also born and raised in Monte Vista, CO. Her parents are devoted Christians and began to tell her about Jesus, salvation, and what it means to be a Christian, at a very young age. “My mother prayed with me when I decided I was ready to ask Jesus into my life.” Rebecca was ten or eleven years old when she began to feel called to missions. A trip to Nepal with Teen Missions International and two trips to Ecuador solidified her desire to serve God in missions.

Rebecca also attended Trinity Western University where she took Bible courses. She took her General Ed courses at Adams State College in Alamosa, CO. She later earned her EMT – Basic Certification at Trinidad State Junior College in Alamosa, CO. She has worked in various departments of their local hospital.

Sean and Rebecca met through their church youth group and were married in 2000.

Rebecca shares that Ephesians 3:16-19 is her prayer for herself. “I desire to continue to grow in the fullness of the love of Christ. This is also my prayer for others; that they may be saved and learn just how awesome God’s love for all of us is.”

To fund the worldwide ministry of MAF, God is faithful in providing loyal, generous ministry support from His most caring people. He has called the men and women of MAF to serve Him in a unique way. He is also calling people like you around the world to play a special role in the ministry of MAF.

You are invited to become a ministry partner with Sean and Rebecca in this strategic ministry. Please prayerfully consider involvement with them through prayer and/or financial support.
