Bio


Kent and Nancy Contrucci are missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship. They spent 8 years as a pilot/mechanic family in Indonesia, then, transitioned to MAF’s headquarters in Redlands, California. Kent was an Instructor Pilot involved in evaluating and training pilots new to MAF for overseas service. He also traveled to overseas programs, providing restadardization training to MAF pilots working in their fields of service. Kent shares, “It has been a privilege to be able to work one on one with the new MAF pilots preparing them for field service. It is exciting for me to have had a part in preparing safe, competent, pilots who are now flying in MAF programs worldwide, reaching out to the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Kent has recently completed a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. He plans to use this in his new role as Coordinator of Leadership Development. He shares, “My passion is to be a resource person, using my years of flying, instructing, and managing to be a resource for managers and pilots in the field. My goal is to be a servant of those serving.”

Nancy is currently the Assistant Director of Special Education Program at the Christian Liberal Arts University, Azusa Pacific University. She has been on the graduate faculty in the Teacher Education Department since 2002. She praises God for His provision to enable her to mentor graduate students making career changes to become Special Education teachers. This has also been His provision for them as Kent, Sarah, and Jonathan have been able to have the benefit of reduced tuition as they earn academic degrees.

Kent is from Madison, Wisconsin, and Nancy is from Chenoa, Illinois. In 1979, Nancy dedicated her life to God. After meeting Kent, she encouraged him to attend the Christian Center on the University of Wisconsin campus and this is where he committed his life to the Lord. Kent received a B.S. in Forestry from the university. He holds a commercial pilot certificate with instrument rating, single engine sea rating, and is a Certified Flight Instructor. He quotes a favorite verse, Romans 10:14-15, "How then can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent?" Kent says, "This verse makes it clear that those living in the world, in spiritual darkness, cannot believe in our God if they have not heard the message. It's important to me to be involved in bringing that Gospel message to those who have not yet had the opportunity to hear it and a chance to believe in the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ."

Nancy earned a Ph.D. in Behavioral Disabilities--Special Education at the University of Wisconsin. Nancy says that a meaningful verse to her is Ephesians 3:20, "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us." She says, "This verse reminds me how all powerful God is, how He hears and sees all, and yet, how available He is to me."

To fund the worldwide ministry of MAF, God is faithful in providing generous ministry support from His caring people. He has called the men and women of MAF to serve Him in a unique way. USA, Technical Field Support

The main offices of Mission Aviation Fellowship serve as a hub for MAF services worldwide. A day in the life here includes specialized flight training, staff recruitment and counseling, purchasing and shipping of aircraft parts, finance and accounting, administration of an internet gateway for worldwide e-mail, fund raising, printing and mailing of various materials, and many, many more activities.

Many representatives also serve from other locations in the United States. Church representatives act as liaisons between MAF and local churches to understand how to cooperate and be most effective together. And Recruiting representatives help to provide MAF with a constant flow of potential new staff - pilots, mechanics, IT professionals, and more - in order to keep the ministry of MAF alive and strong.
