“Missions and college were the last things on earth I wanted to do after I graduated from high school,” Chris shares. His first year of college was spent at Elim Bible Institute in Lima, NY. He earned a degree in Theology from Eastern Bible College in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. During this time Chris was working a construction job at Detroit Metro Airport, where God sparked his interest in aviation. His pastor introduced him to the possibility of pursuing a career in missionary aviation. Thus, he attended Moody Aviation in Elizabethton, TN, graduating with his flight certificate. It was at Moody that he became aware of MAF, and he began to seriously consider the possibility of future ministry in the area of missionary service. He now has his Commercial Pilot’s license with high-performance, complex, and tail-wheel endorsements. He also has his Airframe & Powerplant mechanic’s license.

Luke 22:35 is a very meaningful verse for Chris. “Then Jesus asked them, ‘When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?’ ‘Nothing,’ they answered.” This verse reminds Chris that God is all he needs. “What I have on my back or what I can see are non-essentials to God. He supplies all.”
