Bio
David was raised in Hesperia, CA, where he grew up in a Christian home and attended Hesperia Christian School. At age five, after church one Sunday he asked his father how to become a Christian. His father explained and led him in prayer. It wasn’t until the sixth grade, though, that he began to take Christ’s promise as his own. David became familiar with missions during chapel in elementary school and his interest grew towards serving the Lord in full-time ministry. David attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, as well as Moody Aviation in TN, where he graduated with a B.S. in Missionary Aviation Technology. He also earned his commercial SEL, MEL, and CFII pilot licenses. Romans 8:31,35,37 are significant verses for David. “What then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” These verses are important to him because they not only provide hope for him, but fortify his desire for others to have that same hope and know that same love. Amy grew up in KY and OH. She was seven when, watching several friends’ baptisms, she realized that she was not going to heaven when she died. She asked her parents how she could get to heaven. “My dad explained everything and immediately I knew I needed to accept Christ as my Savior. I prayed right then and surrendered my life to Christ.” Amy’s mother was an MK (missionary kid), so Amy grew up listening to her stories of Brazil. While attending Girls in Action camp, Amy felt God was calling her to missions, when she was in the third grade. Amy earned her B.A. in Accounting from Pensacola Christian College in FL, and received her M.A. in Education from the University of Cincinnati in OH. She has been teaching elementary and middle school since 2000. Psalm 68:19 is a special verse for Amy. “Blessed be the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.” She loves this verse, because it is so clear about what can be expected each day from God. “There’s no question of condition. Every day, God LOADS us with benefits, and those benefits start with our salvation. What an amazing God!” David and Amy met when David, as a visiting missionary, was teaching a Sunday School class at her church in Hesperia, CA. They were married in July 2004.
