JOHN BOYD
President
John Boyd is the President/CEO of Mission Aviation Fellowship. John was born in Dunbar, Scotland. At the age of three his family emigrated to Africa, where he lived in Zambia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. John has both commercial fixed-wing and helicopter pilot’s licenses with instrument rating. His extensive business travels while working in the corporate world enabled him to see first-hand the complexities of different cultures and their need for the Gospel.
As an MAF pilot, John flew some 800 hours a year in support of the church, missionaries and medical ministries as well as relief and development organizations. “Giving practical aid and sharing the love of Christ with those I had contact with was such a tangible expression of God’s love for all people,” John comments. A favorite verse is Isaiah 41:10 - “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” God’s call into leadership continues to fulfill John’s desire to serve Him through the global ministry of MAF.
GHISLAINE F. BENNEY
Director of Development
A former atheist and banking executive, Ghislaine (pronounced
Ga-lane') entered full-time Christian service in 1984 after a powerful
conversion to Christ. The result of her husband Chuck's loving witness
and prayers, her unique and undeniable encounter with the God she long
denied led Ghislaine to commit her life to Jesus Christ. She quickly
resigned her position as a vice president of Citibank in New York, NY,
to begin a spiritual and missionary journey that led her and her
husband to Africa, Mexico and various parts of the United States.
Some of the experiences that God placed on her path during her first
seven years of volunteer, full-time mission service include: director
of all support services for an $80 million famine relief program in
Ethiopia; mission mobilization for a large denomination; director of a
food program and homeless shelter in Arizona; and executive director of
an orphanage in Mexico.
In 1991, Mission Aviation Fellowship asked Ghislaine to help them
with its ministry awareness. Since then, she has held a number of
management positions with the ministry, including leading Operation
ACCESS!
Born in Canada of French parentage, Ghislaine has a passion for
discipling new believers and for encouraging fellow Christians to
actively participate in missions. Chuck is a strong supporter of MAF,
and has served on the MAF Foundation board of directors. Chuck and
Ghislaine have two daughters and three grandchildren, all living
overseas.
