Bruce’s work entails repairing the radios and navigation equipment
for MAF’s six aircraft in Ecuador. He maintains all the radios for
MAF’s Ecuador bases. “It is only through the use of radios that we can
perform the critical safety measure of flight-following.” He has also
completed steps to obtain and maintain the radio shop as a certified
repair station for all of the avionics equipment.
John 9:1-4 says, “As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, ‘Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?’ ‘Neither this man nor his parents sinned,’ said Jesus, ‘but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.’” Bruce shares that, “no matter where we are, we see and experience things that just don’t seem to be right. From these verses we know that we need to just keep doing what God called us to do and trust Him with whatever we don’t understand. By doing this we will see the work of God being displayed.” Molly shares Zephaniah 3:17 as her favorite verse. “The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” This verse reminds her that on the bad days and the good, God delights in her and rejoices over her with singing. “He quiets me with His love. I am His child.” Bruce grew up in a Christian home in St. Charles, Minnesota. Through the influence of his parents and the pastor of his church, Bruce accepted the Lord as his Savior when he was 11 years old. His church was a missions minded church and he became aware of missions at a young age. Bruce attended Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music; it was here that he received a diploma in Bible and pastoral studies. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology at Le Tourneau College, and at Moody Aviation in Tennessee he received a diploma in avionics specialization. He holds an airframe and powerplant license as well as general radiotelephone operators and advanced amateur radio licenses. Molly grew up in Washington, Illinois. She came to know Jesus at age three. Because her family had many missionaries in their home she became aware of missions at an early age. She learned of MAF while dating Bruce. They were married in June 1993. Molly received a B.A. in Christian Camping at Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Missouri. To fund the worldwide ministry of MAF, God is faithful in providing loyal, generous ministry support from His most caring people. He has called the men and women of MAF to serve Him in a unique way. He is also calling people like you around the world to play a special role in the ministry of MAF. You are invited to become a Ministry Partner in this strategic ministry. Please prayerfully consider involvement with Bruce and Molly through prayer and/or financial support. Photo GalleryClick on each thumbnail to view the full-size photo.

Bruce & Molly Harcey

Bruce
and Molly Harcey, along with their children, Josiah and Peter, are
missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship serving in Shell,
Ecuador. “It is a pleasure to put a radio back into service in a
village and then see the utility of it when a call comes in from that
village for a medical emergency flight.”
