Greg says, "Recently I have been inspired by the short discourse between Jesus and Peter in John 6:67-69. I feel much like Peter, when he expresses (my paraphrase), “Without you (Jesus), what else is there?”

Greg grew up in Louisiana. He was led to Christ as a child through the influence of his parents, and Sunday School teacher. Greg's interest in mission aviation was sparked when he heard the testimony of a missionary pilot. His interest matured after he spent two summers on mission trips with Teen Missions. Greg earned a B.S. in Aviation Technology from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. He holds a commercial pilot’s license, with multiple ratings, and an airframe and powerplant mechanic's license.

Ruth grew up in a Christian home in Michigan. She says, "Through Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, I learned of Jesus, and at age five I accepted Jesus as my Savior." While in junior high she felt God leading her to missions. She attended Grand Valley State College in Michigan, Michigan State University, and LeTourneau College graduating with a B.S. degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Ruth and Greg met while they were students at LeTourneau and married after her graduation.

Ruth enjoys working in Congo with MAF. She says, “The work and needs can be overwhelming, but it is great to work alongside our Congolese brothers and sisters in ministry. I have been touched by the faithfulness of those I work with in the MAF office and they have been a blessing to me in many ways this past term. I look forward to working with them again.” This past year, Psalm 62:1-2, has been a favorite passage to Ruth. “It has been a good reminder to me that God is all I need. When times are especially difficult in Congo, I remember that He is my fortress, and resolve like David, to ‘not be shaken.’"
