Bio

Justine Kelly is a short-term missionary teacher with Mission Aviation Fellowship. She says, “I have the great privilege of teaching students at the Hillcrest International School in Papua, Indonesia. I have always loved Mark 9:36-37 which states, “And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them, ‘Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.’”

My story begins in Kentucky where I was born while my father was in the army. When he was released, we moved back to our home state of Idaho. We lived in Boise during my elementary years, and it was during that time, when I was seven, that I asked Jesus into my life. God greatly blessed me by placing me into a strong Christian family. One evening the church was watching a movie called The Mark of the Beast. That night I decided I did not want to be left behind, so the very next day I talked with my mother and asked Jesus to be my Savoir. He has greatly blessed me from that day forward. That was the same year I knew I would become a teacher.

While in fifth grade we moved to Meridian, just west of Boise. It was during middle school that I had my first taste of missions. My church youth group had a party, and we had so much food left over that we decided to take it to the homeless. From that act developed an outreach in Portland, Oregon, where we worked with a soup kitchen over Christmas Break.

During high school I felt that the Lord was leading me to do more missions and He laid Matthew 28:19 on my heart. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” I was able to travel to Mexico, with my father and get a taste of life in another culture. After graduating from Meridian High School, I received my Associate Degree from the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls. During the two years at CSI, I was able to take a few more trips to Mexico, working in an orphanage along with some friends.

Then, returning to Boise, I earned my Bachelors of Education with a Bilingual and ESL endorsement from Boise State University. Once again I went to Mexico, working with missionaries in small villages and a Dream Center. After graduating from BSU, I started teaching at Popplewell Elementary School in Buhl, Idaho. I earned my Masters of Education, focused on Literacy, from Lesley University through Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Some of my interests include reading, crochet and cross-stitch, some drawing and painting; and playing the fiddle. It will be fun seeing how the Lord will use these overseas.

I look forward to serving with MAF. Proverbs 22:6 states, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” The Lord has blessed me with the ability to work with and teach children. It is a true privilege to teach the children of those who are called to be missionaries.

To fund the worldwide ministry of MAF, God is faithful in providing generous ministry support from His caring people. He has called the men and women of MAF to serve Him in a unique way.

He is also calling people like you to have a special role in the ministry of MAF around the world. You are invited to partner with Justine in this strategic ministry. Please prayerfully consider involvement with her through prayer and/or financial support.
