In addition to his “normal” pilot and mechanic duties, John is in charge of Haiti’s maintenance program and parts ordering. He is also one of the MAF regional Chief Pilots and has spent time in Suriname and Venezuela in this aviation safety and training role. JoAnn shares that her biggest job is being a stay-at-home mom. She helps with the MAF accounting once a week at the hangar. “Being at the hangar gives me a better idea of what our guys do everyday and a better sense of our purpose here in Haiti.” JoAnn leads a weekly prayer group that prays specifically for Marshall and Kelly’s school, is involved in a weekly Bible study, and has been the head of their church’s Women’s Ministries Committee for the last two years. She shares that she and John are slowly building relationships with some of the families at the kids’ school and are hoping to be able to share the love of Jesus with them. James 1:5 is a special verse for John, “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” John shares that when times are difficult and confusing; God has promised wisdom to deal with the trying times. “If we ask and look for His direction and wisdom, we will find it.” JoAnn has come to enjoy Exodus chapter 14. “So often we try so hard to do what God should be doing. Sometimes we need to rest in Him and watch and see what He will do in our lives and around us. Her favorite verse is verse 14, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.” It is wonderful for her to know that God is fighting for us. John was raised in a strong Christian family in Naperville, IL. His parents and his church presented the Gospel to him, and at the age of four he accepted Christ as his Savior. He earned a B.S. in Mission Aviation Technology from Moody Bible Institute. John holds a commercial single-engine and multi-engine pilot’s license with instrument ratings. He is a flight and ground instructor and an airframe and powerplant mechanic. JoAnn was raised in Michigan. She comments, "I was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ at the age of five. In high school, being a Christian became more real to me and I rededicated my life to the Lord. It was then that I decided to pursue full-time Christian work." JoAnn received a diploma in Bible Theology from Moody Bible Institute. To fund the worldwide ministry of MAF, God is faithful in providing loyal, generous ministry support from His most caring people. He has called the men and women of MAF to serve Him in a unique way. He is also calling people like you around the world to play a special role in the ministry of MAF. You are invited to become a Ministry Partner in this strategic ministry. Please prayerfully consider involvement with John and JoAnn through prayer and/or financial support. |

John & JoAnn Munsell

earning rewards and enjoying exceptionally low rates!
John
and JoAnn Munsell along with their children, Marshall and Kelly, are a
missionary pilot/mechanic family serving with Mission Aviation
Fellowship in Port Au Prince, Haiti. They share that they are
privileged to be a key part in so many ministries in Haiti. “We hear,
time after time, how the ministries we serve could not do their work if
MAF was not here. The exciting flights are those where we can directly
save lives, but we know that each flight makes a difference for those
we fly and the Haitians we serve.”
