Continue reading...Psalm 25:4-5, “Show me the path where I should walk, O Lord; point out the right road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.” These verses are meaningful for Jonathan as his hope is in Him and his hearts desire is to be used of Him as He leads him in every area and walk of life. In addition to her guest house management responsibilities, Cindee provides a loving home for her family, gives support to MAF short-term teachers as they settle into Sentani living and into life and teaching at Hillcrest International School. For these teachers dearly bless us as they enable ministry to continue by providing essential education, love, and care for all the missionary children. Cindee quotes Deuteronomy 31:8, "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Cindee says, "I have always loved this verse. It is such an encouragement to me" Jonathan and Cindee are both children of MAF pilot families. Jonathan moved to the Philippines at age two. Sadly Jonathan’s father was killed in an aircraft accident delivering Christmas goods to a mission family in 1968. As a nurse, Jonathan’s mother returned to the Philippines, and a few years later the family moved to Irian Jaya where his mother served as a school nurse for missionary kids. Cindee was born in Shell, Ecuador. A few years later her parents also moved to Irian Jaya. They returned to the States when she was 13 years old. It was in Irian Jaya that Jonathan and Cindee met, and reacquainted years later while attending Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Jonathan earned a B.S. degree in Mission Aviation Technology at Moody Bible Institute and holds commercial, instrument, pilot and instrument instructor's ratings along with an airframe and powerplant mechanics license. They were married in 1987. To fund the worldwide ministry of MAF, God is faithful in providing loyal, generous ministry support from thousands of His most caring people. He has called the men and women of MAF to serve Him in a unique way. He is also calling people like you around the world to play a special role in the ministry of MAF. You are invited to become a ministry partner with Jonathan & Cindee in this strategic ministry. Please prayerfully consider involvement with them through prayer and/or financial support.
