Kathie came to MAF-LT in January 2003, and shares Philippians 2:1-2 as a special verse that continues to motivate her service through God's love: “If you have any encouragement
from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any
fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make
my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one
in spirit and purpose.” She feels so blessed by God's goodness and comfort, she longs to share that same joy and encouragement with others as they deepen their relationship with the Father. Continue reading...Kathie was born in Arcadia, CA, but moved to the San Bernardino Mountains when she was 8 years old, and remained in the small, close-knit community for 28 years. She was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ as her savior after a Sunday School class in 3rd grade. The Lord provided her with godly parents and friends, and wonderful opportunities to know and serve Him through youth camp ministries and Bible studies. During her teaching career, encouraging Christian colleagues surrounded Kathie. She was given the chance to pray for her students and encourage them. An awareness of missions came through her experience of being a junior high camp counselor. She was able to hear a missionary share his experiences. She also had several friends, and later, several students who joined missions. Kathie attended Cal State University, San Bernardino, CA, where she received her B.A. in English as well as her California State Clear Credential in English. She received her M.Ed. in Educational Technology from Azusa Pacific University. She taught high school English and journalism for 8 years. She was also the Director of Communications for a humane animal equipment company. Ephesians 3:16-21 is a favorite passage of Kathie’s. She shares, “I love what this verse conveys about God – the power of His Spirit, the depths of His riches, the immeasurable vastness of His love, and that we may be filled with all the fullness of Him to radiate it to others. What an extraordinary, limitless God we serve!” “I am so amazed at how God has used my previous life experience and skills to shape just what He needed to serve Him in a ministry that combines education, technology, and relationship building with people from cultures all over the world. It's a life story I never could have predicted!” To fund the worldwide ministry of MAF, God is faithful in providing loyal, generous ministry support from His most caring people. He has called the men and women of MAF to serve Him in a unique way. He is also calling people like you around the world to play a special role in the ministry of MAF. You are invited to become a ministry partner with Kathie in this strategic ministry. Please prayerfully consider involvement with her through prayer and/or financial support. Collapse Bio Section |
Where I ServeUSA, Technical Field SupportThe main offices of Mission Aviation Fellowship serve as a hub for MAF services worldwide. A day in the life here includes specialized flight training, staff recruitment and counseling, purchasing and shipping of aircraft parts, finance and accounting, administration of an internet gateway for worldwide e-mail, fund raising, printing and mailing of various materials, and many, many more activities. Many representatives also serve from other locations in the United States. Church representatives act as liaisons between MAF and local churches to understand how to cooperate and be most effective together. And Recruiting representatives help to provide MAF with a constant flow of potential new staff - pilots, mechanics, IT professionals, and more - in order to keep the ministry of MAF alive and strong. ![]() |
