Anna Pederson is excited to serve as a teacher with Mission Aviation Fellowship at Hillcrest School in Papua, Indonesia. Her experience and training will provide a quality education for the children of other missionaries serving in the area.
The daughter of MAF missionaries Garth and Jody Pederson, Anna grew up as a missionary kid in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and continued to develop her faith through Sunday School, youth group, and fellowship with other strong believers in her church and community. She cannot pinpoint a certain moment in time when she first felt called to missions, but rather developed a deep yearning towards cross-cultural missions throughout the course of her life abroad.
Anna graduated from the American School of Kinshasa and then moved to the United States to attend Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota. There she earned a degree in elementary education with a middle school endorsement in communication, arts, and literature. This past year she has been teaching 4th grade in Fridley, Minnesota. In her spare time, she enjoys playing her flute, reading, swimming, and playing volleyball.
One of Anna’s favorite Bible verses comes from Psalm 37:5 which says, “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.” She is eager to continue trusting the LORD with her life as she commits to serving as a teacher at Hillcrest School. While investing in a new generation of missionary kids in Papua, Anna brings a unique perspective and understanding to the classroom which she is eager to share with her students.
God calls the men and women of MAF to serve Him in unique ways. He may also be calling you to a special role in Anna’s ministry. Please prayerfully consider becoming a ministry partner with her through prayer and/or financial support.
MAF missionaries raise support for a pooled fund out of which MAF covers salary, housing, benefits, and staff-related ministry expenses. MAF exercises discretion over the use of missionary support in the exercise of its mission and care of its staff.
