Jackie Banks

Jackie Banks faithfully serves at MAF’s headquarters in Nampa, Idaho. She facilitates childcare for staff who are home on furlough or passing through HQ for training. Through her care, she is able to bless the missionary kids (MKs) and also help their parents as they prepare for the field. She appreciates the ongoing opportunity to be a part of how God is working worldwide to reach isolated people with the love of Jesus Christ.

Jackie and her husband Ron served with Mission Aviation Fellowship for over three decades together before he passed away in March 2017. The first decade, Ron and Jackie served as a pilot/mechanic family in the Amazon jungles of Venezuela. Later serving through Learning Technology ministry they helped bring biblical and leadership training to bi-vocational pastors and church leaders in India, Costa Rica, Venezuela, and Eastern Europe. In 2014 God brought them to   MAF-HQ to serve on home staff in aviation services.

Proverbs 3:5-6 is Jackie’s favorite passage, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.”  She knows that as she daily trusts God, He will direct her path. As she walks this journey of faith, she enjoys hospitality, welcoming anyone at any time, and is also active in the worship choir of her local church.

Ron and Jackie grew up in Big Spring, Texas. When Jackie accepted Christ as her Savior, she also dedicated her life to serving Him. A summer mission trip to Baja California strengthened Jackie’s interest in missions. She attended Howard County Junior College and West Texas State University. Ron and Jackie attended the same church and dated throughout high school. During high school, God had used the story of MAF pilot Nate Saint to stir Ron’s interest in missionary aviation which he pursued at LeTourneau University and Moody Aviation. Ron and Jackie were married in 1973. They have four adult children: Kristal (husband Reggie); Nathan (wife Kara and granddaughters Grace, Evelyn, Tessa Joy and Mikaela); Timothy (wife Courtney and granddaughters Annabelle and Colleen); and Kayla their youngest.

God calls the men and women of MAF to serve Him in unique ways. He may also be calling you to a special role in Jackie’s ministry. Please prayerfully consider becoming a ministry partner with her through prayer and/or financial support.

Country of Service

Map of USA

The U.S. offices of MAF serve as a hub for MAF services worldwide. A day in the life here includes specialized flight training, staff mobilization and counseling, purchasing and shipping of aircraft parts, finance and accounting, administration of an Internet gateway for worldwide email, fund raising, printing and mailing of various materials, and many, many more activities. Some staff serve around the country; training future pilots and mobilizing potential candidates to serve with MAF.

Support Jackie's Ministry

MAF missionaries raise support for a pooled fund out of which MAF covers salary, housing, benefits, and staff-related ministry expenses. MAF exercises discretion over the use of missionary support in the exercise of its mission and care of its staff.
