Chris and Cassie Doxtator are short-term missionary teachers with Mission Aviation Fellowship assigned to teach at Peningki Hill School in Tarakan, Indonesia.
Cassie grew up in a Christian home in Weiser, Idaho. She was involved in Sunday School and the community of believers at Weiser Community Church. The summer before sixth grade her family moved to Winston, Oregon, where she went to Umpqua Valley Christian School and chose to be baptized at age 12. After high school, Cassie attended a YWAM discipleship training school in Perth, Australia. This lit a fire in her to further look into mission work and led her to serve in Mexico, Honduras, Mozambique, and France. In 2014, she graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor’s in sociology and an emphasis in inequalities and globalization. In 2016, Cassie graduated with a master’s in elementary education from Eastern Oregon University. For the last three years, she worked in Caldwell, Idaho, at Lewis and Clark Elementary teaching second grade. She is overjoyed to teach the elementary missionary students in Tarakan this fall!
Chris was born and raised in a Christian home in Boise, Idaho. He was involved in AWANA and Cloverdale United Church. He chose to be baptized when he was 13. Chris graduated from Cole Valley Christian School in 2011 and went on to receive his bachelor’s in biology from Boise State University in 2016. For two years, Chris worked at Fish and Game using his biology degree. Then he decided to become a certified high school biology teacher and just finished his first year teaching at Eagle High School. Chris is looking forward to teaching middle school and high school students in Indonesia this year!
Chris and Cassie met online in the summer of 2016. Chris knew on the second date that Cassie was the one, but he didn’t tell her that until quite a few months had passed. Cassie loved how Chris pursued her and showed Christ through his actions. They dated very intentionally for six months before they got engaged. They were married in May 2017.
The Doxtators are eager to embark on this journey. They give God the glory for this opportunity to serve and teach in Indonesia.
