Patrick and Sonya Just are honored and excited by the opportunity to glorify God and serve as Christ’s hands and feet with Mission Aviation Fellowship. As a pilot/mechanic, Patrick utilizes airplanes to transport national church pastors, carry supplies for community development, and provide lifesaving medical evacuation flights over miles of rugged, unforgiving terrain. Sonya continues in her role as a stay-at-home mom raising their children, Elijah, Nate, and Clara. She hopes to connect with and encourage other women in the community.
Patrick was born in Dallas, TX, and was raised in Moscow, ID, where he attended a Christian high school and the University of Idaho. Even though he grew up in the church with many godly examples, college nevertheless proved the turning point for him to really make faith in Christ his own. His passion for aviation began early, and he first soloed at the age of 16. After studying the history of MAF and discovering the present needs of mission aviation, he found himself excited about the possibility of serving God as a missionary pilot.
Sonya was born and raised in Austin, TX, and came to know Christ in high school. She has long had a passion for overseas missions. While attending a missions training program and Bible school in the Rocky Mountains of Montana, Sonya grew deeper in her relationship with God and in her desire to serve Him overseas.
While prayerfully seeking the Lord’s direction individually, Sonya and Patrick met and soon discovered a shared desire to serve God cross-culturally. After a short courtship, they married in 2009.
Now joined by their two sons and daughter, the Justs are excited to be taking their next step in following Jesus as they serve with MAF.
God calls the men and women of MAF to serve Him in unique ways. He may also be calling you to a special role in Patrick and Sonya’s ministry. Please prayerfully consider becoming a ministry partner with them through prayer and/or financial support.
