MAF missionaries raise support for a pooled fund out of which MAF covers salary, housing, benefits, and staff-related ministry expenses. MAF exercises discretion over the use of missionary support to carry out its mission and care for its staff.
Walton and Bethany Kostreva are excited to be the hands and feet of Jesus to isolated people as they serve with Mission Aviation Fellowship. As a pilot/mechanic, Walton will use aviation to share Christ’s love with isolated people as he transports missionaries & national believers, delivers much needed supplies, and provides critical medical evacuation flights. Bethany will continue in her role as a stay-at-home mom, raising their sons, William and Jason. While overseas, she hopes to use music and hospitality to connect with, and minister to, others in the community.
Born and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado, Walton received salvation at an early age. Growing up, he had the opportunity to go on a few short-term mission trips with his parents’ ministry where he got to witness firsthand how the Lord is working in people’s lives around the world as well as the various needs for world missions. This built a vision in his heart for missions and led him to complete a degree in Missionary Aviation Technology through Moody Aviation. After graduation, he continued at Moody as a flight instructor for a few years before joining MAF.
Bethany grew up in Olympia, Washington, in a strong Christian family and received salvation at around seven years old. In middle school, she befriended a missionary couple in her church whom God used to ignite a desire in her for overseas missions. She later attended Montana Wilderness School of the Bible and was strengthened in making her faith her own. She continued praying about how God was calling her to serve. As her desire for missions grew, Bethany was able to participate in many local ministries and later served on a short-term mission trip to Israel two years after high school. Upon moving to Spokane and meeting Walton at church, she learned about the opportunity to serve with MAF and has become increasingly excited to see all that God has in store as they serve with this organization. Walton and Bethany were married in January 2021 and welcomed their son, William, in December of that year.
The Kostrevas are thrilled to be a small part in what Christ is doing to build up His church among the nations. God calls the men and women of MAF to serve Him in unique ways. He may also be calling you to a special role in the Kostrevas’ ministry. Please prayerfully consider becoming a Ministry Partner with them through prayer and/or financial support.
