With this verse in their hearts, Kevin and Beth are glad for God’s call to use them as a missionary pilot family with Mission Aviation Fellowship in Papua, Indonesia.
Kevin has a passion for flying and loves serving the missionaries, national church workers, and medical needs of people; especially where access to the Gospel is still difficult. He considers it a high honor to be part of the fruitful evangelical work in Papua. For more than 10 years on the field, his life verse has been I Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
Beth is eager to use their home and time to care for the people she’s grown to love and to encourage the other missionaries. From Philippians 4:13, she is encouraged that she “can do all things through Him…” Beth has a passion for home management, cooking, and interior decorating. She loves her ministry of hospitality and creating opportunities for meaningful conversations.
Kevin was born in Lemoore, CA, and from age six, his family served with MAF in Irian Jaya (now Papua), Indonesia. His parents led him to Christ when he was 6 years old and continued to help him grow spiritually. As an adult, Kevin’s real spiritual growth began while he was a helicopter pilot in the Navy. During those years he attended a mission conference and realized God was calling him personally to be engaged in the Great Commission and go as a missionary himself. Kevin graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, with his B.S. in Political Science. He received his Biblical and maintenance training at LeTourneau University in Longview, TX. His several aviation licenses include a Commercial Pilot License, ASEL, MEL, and A&P. Kevin has served as a Navy Search and Rescue helicopter pilot and Flight Instructor.
Beth was born in Manheim, PA, and received Christ when she was 8 years old. Her parents and siblings most influenced her to accept Christ as she longed to have the assurance of salvation that they had. A godly heritage of many generations of faithful believers in her family impacted her life tremendously as her parents lived missions every day on the family farm in Lancaster County, PA. Beth’s first short-term missions experience was with Voice of Calvary Ministries in Jackson, Mississippi, then with Second Harvest Food Bank in Maine, and finally, for the past 16 years in Papua, Indonesia.
Beth met her first husband in a church youth group and first heard of MAF through Moody Aviation where he was a student. They served ten years with their five children as a pilot family in Papua until his fatal aircraft accident in 2008. Six months later, she met Kevin, who was serving with MAF in a different area of Papua. During a year and half of courtship on the field, they prayed and waited for God’s leading. God answered and in October 2010, they were married. They are now back in Papua serving together there as a family with daughters Victoria and Jasmine.
God calls the men and women of MAF to serve Him in unique ways. He may also be calling you to a special role in the Lynnes’ ministry. Please prayerfully consider becoming a Ministry Partner with them through prayer and/or financial support.
MAF missionaries raise support for a pooled fund out of which MAF covers salary, housing, benefits, and staff-related ministry expenses. MAF exercises discretion over the use of missionary support in the exercise of its mission and care of its staff.
