Priorities for Prayer

  • Monday, October 24

Praise God that He cares so much for those in need—the poor, orphans, widows, the infirmed. May we become like the virtuous woman spoken of in Proverbs 31 who reaches out to the poor and needy.

  • Tuesday, October 25

MAF expects relief flights in Haiti to increase this week, as US military helicopters that were delivering cargo withdrew last week. Pray for extra wisdom and protection as the MAF staff work to help those in need.

  • Wednesday, October 26

Pray for the 11 additional MAF staff sent to help the MAF Haiti team with the relief effort. Praise God for the six expat families who live and work in Haiti on an ongoing basis and for the 15 Haitian staff who keep things running efficiently.

  • Thursday, October 27

Pray for unity and good coordination amongst the various groups working in Haiti.

  • Friday, October 28

Give thanks that communications are being restored in most of the areas on the southern peninsula of Haiti. Pray that MAF equipment will be used for God’s purposes.

  • Saturday, October 29

Pray for those people in small, out-of-the-way communities that may be overlooked in the Haiti relief efforts.

  • Sunday, October 30

Praise God MAF relief flights are transporting doctors, paramedics, and aid workers to Haitian towns that have experienced a lot of destruction. Pray for God’s healing touch.

This week’s Prayer Connection is focused on praying for Haiti after the devastation of Hurricane Matthew. If you’d like to read more about what MAF is doing and how you can get involved, please visit the Haiti Disaster Response web page.
