THE STORY BEHIND THE SONG

"Lift My Eyes" is based on Psalm 121 and the knowledge that we can lift our eyes to the Lord no matter what is going on or where we are—even in the most isolated places in the world.

Ben Calhoun of Citizen Way was initially inspired when hearing about how for those in remote villages, the sound of hope often comes from an MAF airplane. When they hear the sound, they look up.

"The vision I have in my head is of the roar of the engine coming over the hills into a village, and the people hear it, look up, and say 'hope is coming, food is coming, the gospel is coming,'" said Ben. "In the most faraway regions in the world that nobody thinks of, MAF goes there, and I want to be a part of that."
