Emergency Medevac for an Injured Pastor

Haiti-MAF-Cessna-207-HH-MAF-JulyTwo years ago Pastor Rochelin was accompanying two of his children to school via motorcycle taxi in the town of Les Cayes, Haiti, when they were hit by a large truck that had lost its brakes. They all sustained head injuries and broken bones. The children were treated at a local clinic; but Pastor Rochelin’s injuries were critical and he needed more extensive treatment in the capital city of Port-au-Prince.

The call came in to MAF early that morning requesting an emergency flight for the injured pastor. Soon Cessna 207 HH-LLS was airborne, and 45 minutes later she arrived in Les Cayes to retrieve the pastor.

Once LLS arrived back in Port-au-Prince, MAF staff carefully unloaded Pastor Rochelin and carried him through the terminal to the ambulance, where he was whisked away to the hospital.

“Without MAF, the 45 minute flight would have been hours of grueling travel by road—a trip that Pastor Rochelin would most likely not have survived,” said MAF pilot Will White.

Almost two years to the day, a former MAF volunteer bumped into Pastor Rochelin in Les Cayes.

He told her that he never stops praying for the team who helped him. He asked for prayers for continued healing and for his congregation, the Evangelical First Christian Church in Chantel.

Because of HH-LLS and its faithful supporters, this flight and many others like it were made possible.

Please pray for continued healing for Pastor Rochelin, and for the other passengers, and the pilots who fly HH-LLS.
