Haiti

Map of HaitiSince 1986, Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) has provided essential aviation services for Christian mission workers, aid agencies, and others serving in Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. MAF missionary families, with the help of Haitian staff members, operated and maintained four aircraft, flying to isolated communities throughout Haiti with medical care, humanitarian aid, and development opportunities.

Due to violence in the capital city of Port-au-Prince, flight operations were paused in 2023, and a restart of operations was planned with our base relocated to Pignon in 2025. Due to the ongoing insecurity across Haiti, ministry operations were suspended and staff families departed the country in May 2025.

We are deeply thankful for the many partnerships and milestones we’ve shared over nearly four decades of ministry in Haiti—progress that lays a strong foundation for the future. We remain hopeful that, when conditions improve, our MAF Haiti team will be able to resume operations and once again bring help, hope, and healing to isolated communities throughout the country. MAF remains committed to praying for lasting peace and stability, and we will continue to closely monitor the situation with the hope of returning when it is safe to do so.

Please join us in praying for the people of Haiti and that God’s peace will reign throughout the country.
